The jock
I finally got around to taking Corbin's 9 month pictures. He is wearing the famous letterman jacket that all my brothers wore growing up. Sorry there are so many pictures...I had a hard time deciding which ones to post :) If you enlarge the last pic, you will see there is a nice bit of drool hanging off Corbin's lip.

a little help
Most of you know that I teach the 3 years old class (the sunbeams) in church. I have discovered the BEST website for help with the lessons each week (especially since they just changed the class time from 40 to 50 minutes...that is a long time to keep 3 year olds entertained). I check this website each week, because it is so helpful. It has ideas for games, treats, stories, and pictures you can print for the kids to color.

9 months
Corbin is usually an awesome eater, and will gobble up anything I give him. The other day he did not want to eat what I was giving him (I think it was turkey and rice...I can't remember). However, as soon as I pulled out the cheerios, he was all smiles.

Ribalicious
We had ribs for dinner tonight. They were amazing!! We totally loved them. I got the recipe from this great crockpotting blog.
Crock pot Korean Ribs
The Ingredients.
--package of beef short ribs (I used boneless. They are cheaper, and I kind of get grossed out eating food right off the bone)
--3/4 cup soy sauce (the original recipe calls for 1 cup)
--1 cup brown sugar
--3 whole jalapeno peppers (original calls for 5, don't worry, they don't make the dish spicy at all)
--1/2 cup water
The Directions
Place ribs in crock pot, then put the soy sauce, water and brown sugar on top, followed by the WHOLE (don't cut them!) jalapenos on top. I cooked mine on low for 6 hours, but if yours are frozen or are bone-in, then they will obviously need to cook longer.

Mama's little helper
I was doing the dishes today, and Corbin decided that he wanted to help out. What a smart kid. Not quite 9 months old, and he is already helping out around the house.Corbin got really mad when I finally finshed up the dishes and put the spoons he was playing with into the dishwasher. Luckily, I found another toy to distract him.

awakenings
Clark and I watched a really cool movie last night called, "Awakenings." Neither of us had heard of it, but it was on tv, so we decided to give it a try. It is based on a true story about these people who are basically vegetables, and the doctor (Robin Williams) decides to try out a new drug to see if it will wake them up. Robert DeNiro plays one of the patients, and I thought that he did an amazing job!

mamamama
In the last couple of weeks, Corbin has started saying, "mamamama" when he cries. I don't really think he knows that is my name. But it is still fun to hear.

holy tuna cakes batman!!
We had tuna cakes for dinner. They were surprisingly good. I got the recipe from kraftfoods.com. I added a little green onion, left out the relish, and halved the recipe. It was the perfect amount of food for me and Clark. The only problem I had, was that the cakes really stuck to my pan. So I wonder if it would be better to use oil next time, instead of Pam. Or maybe I just need to use more Pam.
1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/3 cup KRAFT Mayo Real Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. CLAUSSEN Sweet Pickle Relish
3/4 cup water
Substitute 1 cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese, 1/2 cup chopped green onions and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice for the Cheddar cheese, carrots and pickle relish.
How to Prevent Fish Cakes from Falling Apart
Shape patties as directed; cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour to help firm them up before cooking.

Home
Well, we are all done house-sitting. It is so nice to be back home, even though it is still a big mess because the floors aren't completely installed yet. When we walked in the front door, Corbin saw Izzy and he burst out laughing. He was so excited to see her. It was the cutest thing!
