birthday celebration

We have had a really nice birthday celebration. On Thursday Clark was able to get off work at 7 p.m. (which doesn't sound so great, but it really was nice because he has been working until 10:30 p.m.) Our great friend Kylee watched Corbin for us, and we went out to eat at the Olive Garden (where we went on our first date, by the way). Corbin's gift to me that day, was taking a 3 hour nap! It was so wonderful. I was able to work on insurance calls for 1 1/2 hours, and I still had time to relax. Very, very nice. I also decided to take Corbin's 18 month pictures that day. The little guy decided to not smile in a single picture! But a couple of them turned out pretty cute. I played around with them in a free editing software called Gimp. It is similar to Adobe photo shop. I have been having lots of fun learning how to use it.

On Friday, I made Clark's favorite dinner and a chocolate cake. We played with Corbin, then watched a movie once he went to bed. Poor little Corbin was so happy to finally see Clark again, that we couldn't get him to calm down and go to sleep until about 9:30. He sure misses Clark. Unfortunately, I didn't charge my camera battery so I only took a few pictures of the 2 day birthday celebration.

bye bye!

Corbin is a funny little dude. The last couple of times that I drained the tub after bath time, Corbin waved at the drain and the disappearing water and said, "bye, bye!"

It's magic

Clark and I have had to upgrade the minutes on our cell phone plan, to account for all the time I spend on the phone each week doing insurance verification phone calls for my old job (which I suppose could now be considered my current job, as well). This has made our cell phone bill way too high. During the Christmas holiday, my brother Travis told me and Clark about a phone service called Magic Jack. You simply connect little device that looks like a zip drive to both your phone and the usb port on your computer, and you have an instant land line. The best part is that it only costs $40 for the first year of service and $20 for subsequent years. It includes unlimited minutes, free voice mail, call-waiting, and free local and long distance. Talk about an awesome deal! So this last week we decided to sign up and give it a try. We connected it on Friday, and so far we love it! I would definately recommed the product to anyone with high-speed internet, who is looking to decrease their phone bill.

1st haircut!

On Sunday Clark and I finally broke down and cut Corbin's hair. No more cute curls! He looks so much older with short hair!

Christmas Vacation

Well. We have been back in Colorado for 3 days now, so I guess it is about time to update my blog. We had so much fun with our families while we were in Utah. It was a really nice vacation. Corbin did great on the flights to and from Utah. Especially on the flight home. We ended up sitting in the plane for 2 hours before take-off. The plane was waiting for a few transfers to get on, then they wanted to get some stand-by people on the flight. Then they had to de-ice the plane because it had started snowing. We then pulled to the runway, only the sit for a very long time. The plane then had to turn around and get de-iced again. After that we went to the runway and finally took off. What should have been an 1 1/2 hour flight, turned into a 3 1/2 hour flight. What a pain! Corbin was quite the little champ though.

At temple square on Christmas Eve
Corbin loved playing with all his cousins. Here he is with his cousin Kaycee.
Corbin dressed up as Joseph, for the reading of the Navitiy story. Apparently he must have wanted to dress up as baby Jesus, becuase he was much more interested in playing in the cradle.

Christmas Day

We went sledding on some cardboard (until someone at the park lent us their sled) with Uncle Travis.

"een up, een up" Corbin loved helping Grandma Butterfield clean.

Riding the snowmobile at Grandpa and Grandma Gee's cabin. Corbin refused to take any naps while we were at the cabin. The only way we could get him to go to sleep was to take him on a snowmobile ride. Crazy.

Here is a cute video of Corbin playing in the curtains at the cabin.
