floors

We are really pleased with how our new floors look. We still have a few more feet to install, but we are getting close! It will be a while before we have time to finish it all up because we are house-sitting this week for a family in our ward.

8 months

Corbin is 8 months old today. Can you believe it? I let him try to feed himself bananas today for lunch. I read in parents magazine that it helps to roll the bananas in smashed crackers to make them less slippery, and it did seem to help a little bit. He made a pretty good mess, but we both had fun. Notice Izzy in the back, just waiting for me to give the okay for her to come and eat everything Corbin dropped on the floor.

Here is a good shot of Corbin's 3rd tooth, it just came in last week.

It's the banshee!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

On Saturday Clark and I took Corbin to his first athletic event...a DU gymnastics meet! We had so much fun, and Corbin was so good, even though he stayed up an hour past his bedtime. Denver beat Arizona 196.25 to 193.75. Poor Arizona had a rough night, on beam, 4 of their 6 girls fell .

going green

Does anyone have any good green recipes for St. Patrick's Day?

Standing tall

Today Corbin pulled himself up to a stand for the first time! He crawled over to our shoe basket thingy, and he pulled himself up onto his knees (which he has only been doing for maybe a week) in order to get to the shoes. From there he stood up, and he stayed up for a good 4 or 5 seconds before he toppled over.

Little monkey

Corbin loves crawling under his excersaucer. Silly kid.
Corbin is starting to support himself on his hands and knees, but he still only does an army crawl to get around.

I'm just floored!

Saturday Clark and I were kind of bored, so we decided to go window shopping at Lowes. We have been wanting to replace the ugly linoleum in our kitchen for a long time, so we went down the flooring aisles to check out what they had in stock there. When we got to the end of the row, we found 3 Pergo laminate floors that were 1/2 price! Apparently Lowes isn't going to stock those colors anymore. So we bought samples and took them home, and we really liked one of them, so we went back and bought a bunch of boxes (thanks to our big tax return)! The picture is from the Pergo site, and it is of the same flooring that we purchased. I can't wait to cover up the ugly floors we have in the kitchen right now (okay, so they really aren't that ugly, but I really, really hate linoleum, and I think it always looks dirty). I might take us a while to get them installed, it all just kind of depends on Clark's work schedule. Fun stuff!

About me

Jasmine tagged me. I tag anyone who wants to fill this out.
1. 10 years ago
10 years ago I was 14 (wow. that's weird), and I was just starting to get serious about gymnastics.

2. 5 things on your list to do today
*go to a garage sale
*hang out with Clark (who had to work. booo!)
*read
*clean up the house a little
*vacuum

3. snacks you enjoy
*ice cream
*any type of crunchy candy...especially nerds
*popsicles

4. what would you do if you became a millionaire suddenly
pay off the car, put away money for Corbin, pay off the house, save for retirement, travel the world!

5. 3 bad habits
Like I'd tell you!

6. 5 places you have lived
Riverton, UT
South Jordan, UT
Provo, UT
Englewood, CO

7. 5 jobs you've had
Museum of Art security guard
gymnastics teacher
photo studio receptionist
health center receptionist
mom

8. 5 things people don't know about you
*I don't have an type of MP3 player (I know. It's crazy. I am probably the only person on the planet without one. And I am cool with that. I would rather buy other stuff. Right now I am drooling over this really nice external flash that I would love to get for my camera)
*I plan my grocery list strictly by what is on sale and what coupons I have. It generally takes me about an hour to check out the sales, and figure out what I need, and then find all my corresponding coupons
*Some of my favorite foods are corn on the cob, and squash soup (not necessarily at the same time)
*Even though it has been a long time since I was last in the gym, I occasionally have dreams where I can still do gymnastics (although, I don't fall off the bars or beam and jolt awake, like I used to). I really miss doing gymnastics. Especially club gymnastics, I liked that better than college gym.
*I put onions on my grilled cheese sandwiches. Believe me. It's very tasty! I dare you to try it.

you crack me up

Corbin tried out crackers for the first time today. He didn't really know what to do when I first gave him a cracker, but once I showed him to put it in his mouth, he went to town!

swing

Today is the first Saturday all year that Clark hasn't had to work! Life is definitely more fun when Clark is around. And the weather was a perfect 70 degrees.

Things we did today:

*errands (grocery store, post office, dry cleaners, library)

*went on a walk to a park. Corbin was kind of freaked out when we first put him in a swing, but he quickly got the hang of it.

*grilled up some hamburgers (sooo good)

*washed the dog

*fix a leak in the toilet (Clark is quite the handy-man)

we had to put a blanket behind Corbin to keep him from falling too far back in the seat :) When we first put him in, his arm kept getting stuck in the leg hole behind him.
