Dog food

Today some kids came by for a school fundraiser. When I opened the door I had to hold Izzy back to keep her from jumping on them and/or running away. So that the kids wouldn't be scared I just told them that she gets a little hyper. One of the girls looked a little confused, and a few seconds later she asked me, "so, do you feed your dog sugar?"

Awesome.

Corbin's newest cousin

Rex Thomas Butterfield
Congratulations Chad and Lindsay!

Two Months!

Corbin is two months old. It is crazy how quickly the time flies. We decided to move him out of his bassinet in our bedroom, and he is now sleeping in his crib. It is amazing how much better I sleep with him in there. I wish we would have moved him a few weeks ago!

I took Corbin in for his 2 month doctor appointment yesterday. It was vaccination time, so the poor kid has some battle wounds where they poked him. Here is an update on his statistics, along with his percentage compared to the average child.

Height: 23 1/4 inches ____________55%
Weight: 10 lbs 13 oz_____________30%
Head circumference: 15 inches______15%

The good news is that his weight has increased from being in the 10th percentile to the 30th. As you can see, his head is still pretty small. The funny this is that I don't think it looks small at all, I just think that other kids have big heads :)

At the appointment the doctor put Corbin on his stomach to see how high he would lift his head, and the doctor was very impressed! He said that Corbin lifted his head higher than most kids can at 2 months (probably because all those other kids have heads that are twice the size of his!)

Smile

So far this is the only pic I've been able to snap of Corbin smiling

Corbin's new toy. I got it at a garage sale last week. It lights up and plays music when he kicks the toys. Corbin gets really excited about the lights and he kicks his legs and waves his arms like crazy!

Funky

There is a strange smell emanating from our neighbors to the North. It almost reminds me of back when my Korean roommate Pam would cook. But the smell doesn't come through where their kitchen is, it is smelly upstairs by our shared bedroom walls. Why does it smell so bad by the bedroom? That must be some pretty powerful food to seep through the walls. Even Pam's cooking wouldn't smell up the apartment next door...

so sleepy

I can't believe that it is already Thursday night. Clark has been in Ohio since Monday night, and surprisingly the week has not gone by as slowly as i thought it would. Clark gets back tomorrow night, and it will be nice to have some help with Corbin (not to mention the fact that I will have an adult around to talk to).

Today I went and visited my old work. It was really nice to see all my friends there, and to show off the baby. I ended up going to lunch at a mexican place called Qdoba with my friend Marcy, which was really nice. At my work there is this cute massage therapist named Alfred, and he insisted on carrying Corbin in his carseat all the way to Qdoba (which was probably about a 5 minute walk). Now, that might not seem like much, but Alfred is 68, and he didn't even want any lunch. He just didn't want to see me carrying the carseat that far. He is adorable...he reminds me of Minnie Driver's grandpa in the movie "Return to Me."

Anyways, that is about all I have to say right now. Corbin has been sleeping a ton today. I am kind of worried that he won't sleep tonight, but I can't get him to stay awake! Maybe he is just growing, and needs lots of sleep. Let's hope that he doesn't stay up all night.
