Colorado life

Clark took his last section of the CPA exam today! Hopefully he passes!
Yesterday I took Corbin in for his 1 month appointment with the doctor. Here are his latest statistics.
weight: 8 lbs 4 oz
height: 22.25 inches
He is in the 10% for his weight, and the 75% for his height. He has grown one inch in the last 2 weeks! The doctor is a little concerned because Corbin has only gained 4 ounces in the last 2 weeks, which is not very much. I have to take him back again on Monday to get weighed again. If he is still not gaining much weight, then we might have to look into supplementing his diet with formula.
Clarks parents came into town today. Clark's dad is going to help him build us a coat closet. As much as I love our little townhome, it has the definate downfall of only having a closet in each bedroom. No coat closet and no linen closet. So, I am very excited to have a place to hang our coats, and other stuff. The closet will also be a great selling point one day. It will help set our townhome apart from all the others that have such little storage space. I will post some pictures when they finish it.

Airport Adventure

Well, we got back to Colorado safe and sound on Sunday evening. The flight sure went a lot faster with a little kid to watch over. Corbin definately made sure that the flight was not a boring one. Our flight was scheduled to take off at 6 p.m., and I figured Corbin would start getting hungry right about 6:30. Which would have been perfect because we could then mix up some formula with bottled water when the flight attendents brought around drinks. However, as soon as they shut the door, and started pulling the plane out to the runway, Corbin started crying his head off, and I figured he was probably hungry, but the flight attendent said that she wouldn't bring us water until the plane was up in the air, and it was time for beverages. So I picked up Corbin from his carseat (the flight wasn't a full one, so we got to bring his carseat on the plane with us), and when I picked him up, there was a wonderful surprise on my hand. He had pooped through his diaper and through his onsie. Well, that left us with a little problem. We couldn't really take him to the bathroom to change him because we were about to take off, and we couldn;t just put him back in his carseat with a dirty diaper and let him cry. So we pulled out our changing pad, put it on my lap, and we changed him right then and there (which was no easy feat). Once he had on a clean diaper and outfit, Corbin was a content little fella for the remainder of the flight. After we landed I leaned over to unbuckle the seat belt from the carseat, and I caught a whiff of something just a little smelly. So I checked his diaper, and sure enough Corbin had once again gone to the bathroom, and pooped through his diaper and onto his onsie! This time it wasn't as bad, so we were able to wait the 5 minutes and just take him to an airport restroom to change him once again. I used our last two wipes on that diaper change, and he was lucky that I had another onsie for him to wear. I blame the second explosion on the fact that we had not really secured his diaper very well after the first diaper change (hey, you try changing a really poopy diaper on your lap, on a plane while it takes off and see how well you do up the diaper!).
It was nice to be in Utah and visit with family, but it is also nice to be home again. I need to get going, Corbin just woke up from his nap and is starting to fuss. Until next time!

Swing-a-roo

Clark and I have discovered just how wonderful baby swings are. Corbin had a pretty rough night on Saturday. He didn't go to sleep until about 4:30 a.m., and the only thing that finally made him stop screaming was putting him in this swing. When he gets really upset, it is the only thing that calms him. Other than that night, Corbin is doing pretty good. He looks bigger to me everyday. Clark's mom is coming to town tomorrow, and then we will all be heading out to Utah on Friday! We can't wait to see all our family and friends!
Corbin loves his mama!

Update

Tomorrow Corbin will be 2 weeks old. In a way the time has flown by, but at the same time, it seems like ages ago that I was at the hospital. Corbin's umbilical cord fell nearly completely off yesterday, so in a few days we should be able to give him a real bath, which should be lots of fun. Also, I am really proud of myself, because I cut Corbin's nails today, which was a pretty scary thing.

We went to the doctors office for his two week visit today, and he now weighs 8 lbs! He has gained 13 ounces in the last 8 days. He is in the 70% for his height (21.5 inches), 40% for his weight, and 10% for his head size. I guess he has pretty small head, but no worries, the doctor said that doesn't mean he has a small brain :) It is kind of fun to be able to get these growth percentages. Here are some more fun pictures of the little dude.

This was taken last week at Corbin's doctor appointment. At the office, all the rooms have different themes. As you can see this is the Bronco's room. At our appointment today we were in the superhero room. I really like our doctor. It is a great office.

Corbin Potter

Corbin loves to have his hands up by his face. Here he is just chillin' while he sleeps.

What a good looking kid

Corbin is now 4 days old, and he is doing great! Here are some pictures of him from days 2 to 4. I sure am having fun taking pictures of our cute little guy. Enjoy!

I might be biased, but...

I think he's a pretty cute kid!
Here he is. Corbin Clark born at about 9 p.m. on July 18. He weighed in at 7 pounds 6 ounces, and is 21.5 inches long (apparently he is going to be a basketball star one day). Here are some pictures that were taken about 40 minutes after his birth.

Already quite the ladies man!

Coupons are nice, but...

I sure feel bad using them, sometimes. Today I went to Walgreens because they had some stuff on sale that we needed, and I used some coupons while I was there. They had conditioner on sale, buy one, get one free. And I had a coupon for the same stuff, that was buy one, get one free. So essentially I got $10 worth of conditioner for absolutely nothing. But the poor man at the checkout was having the hardest time with my coupons. I felt really bad for him. He had to get someone to help him enter them in, and then when I got out to the car, I realized that he had charged me full price ($15) for some baby stuff that was on clearance for $3. So I had to go back inside and get that fixed. So, what should have been a 10 minute shopping trip turned out to be nearly 3 times that. I didn't mind waiting. It's not like my life is really busy right now. I just felt bad for the poor man that was trying to ring me up. He was having the hardest time, and the people in the store were kind of being jerks to him. It's too bad that using coupons has to be so difficult (but at least I saved a whole bunch of money!)

1856

Today we went and saw our stake's production of the musical, "1856". I was really impressed with the amount of talent in our stake. Afterwords, Clark and I went out to eat at Applebee's. All in all we had a really fun day. We have been busy trying to get everything ready for the baby (put all the baby stuff put together and get the house all cleaned). We still have a little bit of work left to do, but it was nice to take a day off and just have some fun together.

staci + harry

We went and saw the new Harry movie yesterday. I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. Usually I am fairly disappointed in the Harry Potter movies, but I really enjoyed this one. I was especially surprised at how much I liked Professer Umbridge. When I saw the previews for the movie, I didn't think that the actor would do the character justice, but she did a really good job. Hemm...Hemm...

Take me out to the ball game

Last night we went to the Rockies vs. Mets game. Rockies killed the Mets (so sorry, Chad). One of the Rockies players even hit a grand slam! It was a really fun game, and we got to sit in the box that is owned by Clark's work. After the game they had a HUGE fireworks display. I have never seen a grand finale with so many fireworks going off at once. It was awesome!
