Daddy time

Over this past summer I have had the chance to work selling produce for my cousin's farm. It has been a really great opportunity for our family. I was able to bring in a little extra cash, and I was only scheduled to work on Saturdays. Clark got to have some good one-on-one time with the kids while I was at work. I came home one day to see Clark and Avery hanging out on the slide watching Corbin play football. It was the sweetest sight. These kids just love spending time with their daddy. We all just wish he was a little less busy, so that we could see him more often! Last week Clark worked 80 hours. It was awful for everyone. They had a huge deadline and he pulled an all-nighter Wednesday-Thursday. He got home from work Thursday morning at 4:30 a.m., and continued to work until 6:30 a.m. He then got back up just an hour later and went back to work. Definitely a record for the most hours he has ever worked in a 48 hour period. The poor man. It was terrible. I hope he never has to work that much again.

Avery's birthday!

Avery had a great birthday this year. The weather was beautiful that day, so we invited some friends and went to the park. Corbin was off-track, so it was fun to have him there all day to celebrate, too. 

Favorites:

TV Show: Go, Diego, Go, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Toys: Stuffed animals. She carries them around with her everywhere. She especially loves her Minnie, Daisy, and her doggy stuffed animals. She also loves playing with building blocks

Hello Kitty! She was so funny when she opened this present. She gasped and said, "Hello Kitty! Just what I wanted!!"

So, so tired from playing at the park. She still takes naps most days.

Avery requested a Dora and Diego cake. So, I went the easy route and bought these bath toys and stuck them on top. Avery thought it was great.

Ever since Corbin started school this year, Avery has been asking for a Hello Kitty backpack. And now she has one!

Happy birthday, Avery girl! We love you to pieces!!

Halloween

Witches

We met up with my cousin Marci and her cute kiddos to see the witches at Gardner Village. The kids had lots of fun going on the witch scavenger hunt. And Marci and I enjoyed chatting (when the kids let us) and eating lunch together.

This firefighter witch was Corbin's favorite.

Fishing

Uncle Kyle invited us to go fishing with him. We went up to Silver Lake, and the weather was absolutely beautiful! And the best part was that Corbin caught a fish without any help!
We are so spoiled by family, now that we live in Utah. I am so happy that my kids will now have some really great memories of their extended family. Which is something they wouldn't really have gotten, if we still lived in Colorado (but I do still miss it there).

Avery was most excited about the ducks. She would have fed them her whole lunch, if I let her.

There were some squabbles over who got to hold the net or the pole.

The fish weren't biting that great. But we found a spot where at least 20 fish were hanging out, and we were able to catch some fish there. I just love Corbin's face in this picture. He was over the moon.

Football

 Clark took the kids to some BYU practice scrimmages.

And Corbin went to 2 BYU football games. The boy is officially obsessed. Clark couldn't be prouder :)

Star of the Week

Corbin got to be Star of the Week this past week at school. He decorated this cool poster that is overflowing with his love of BYU. He also got to bring his favorite book to school, and Mrs. Lambourne read it to the class. Corbin picked out a Star Wars pop-up book that Uncle Jeff gave him. Corbin said that all the kids thought the book was really cool!

Swings

Avery loves the swing set! She likes to ask for "roller coasters." I pull the swing back as far as I can and then let it fly (complete with roller coaster sound effects, of course). Avery likes to bring her stuffed animal friends out for a ride sometimes, too.
