California Adventure!

Tractor ride at Radiator Springs.

Cool new sunglasses from Grandpa and Grandma

We got to meet Lightening! Kachow!

That's right. Show stopper!

Flik from A Bug's Life. This is one of the few characters that Avery wasn't afraid of, oddly enough.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates

Radiator Springs Racers. Such a fun ride! Too bad Corbin's face is hidden behind the windshield. This was a favorite for all of us.

Grizzly River Rapids. Corbin LOVED this ride!! (And notice that he got more cotton candy today) We went on this ride 3 times, and Corbin was laughing so hard that he started snorting. It was hilarious. Clark was a good sport because he got soaked on this ride. His shoes were drenched. They didn't dry out until the next day.

We met quack-quack! And Avery was totally scared of him. But Donald was really cute, and he played peek-a-boo with her. He was probably the nicest character that we met, because he spent so much time with us.

Toy Story Mania was another favorite ride. Avery liked the 3D glasses for about 10 seconds. Clark totally crushed us. In fact, he got the highest score for the entire group that we rode with. Go Clark!

Corbin loved being able to go on rides with Grandma and Grandpa. He loved all the attention.

High-five from the Monsters, Inc. guy.

Once again, Corbin loved the parade. The only problem was that he was so excited that he kept wandering out too far into the street.
This video is a pretty good example of how happy the kids were. :)

California trip: Disneyland!

Last week we went on a family vacation to California. We had so much fun! The first day of the trip we spend at Disneyland. Clark's parents were able to meet us in CA, and the kids just loved having their grandparents there with them.

Corbin's favorites:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (he went on this ride a total of 7 times between our 2 days at Disney)
Splash Mountain
Toad's Wild Ride
Buzz Lightyear
Peter Pan
Eating cotton candy
Trading his pins

Avery's favorites:
The Carousel
The train around the park
Peter Pan
Her "quack quack" (Daisy Duck) stuffed animal

Least favorite:
- Pirates of the Caribbean. Both kids did not like this one. They were too scared. Avery hid her head in my arm the whole time. And Corbin was very vocal about how much he did not like the ride.

Notice Corbin's ornery face. He did not want to take pictures, he just wanted to get  into the park!

Buzz Lightyear was a favorite ride

Corbin is awesome. He went on Splash Mountain, and he loved it!

Grandma had the magic touch, and she got Avery to take a nice little stroller nap.

Corbin loved driving crazy on Autopia.

Corbin was in love with the Cotton Candy. Avery was not. She didn't like the sticky mess.

Notice Corbin's lanyard and pins. He loved finding people to trade Disney pins with.

Corbin loved the parade. He had this grin on his face the entire time. He waved at all the characters and he loved it when they waved back. He was especially excited about the Lion King float.

All tired out and waiting to get on the tram to get to the parking lot.

Avery is 2!

The birthday girl

Trying really hard to blow out the candles. It took her a few tries, and some help from Corbin to get them out. Love this face.
Avery loved the "boons."  We eventually had to put them away because she wouldn't stop playing with them while we were trying to get her to eat dinner.

Giving Daddy a kiss

Avery really loves ducks, or "quack, quacks. " She wanted to give the quack quack on her cake a kiss.

Avery got a Cinderella doll ("Lella"), a Minnie Mouse ("Mow" rhymes with how) stuffed animal  because she is really liking stuffed animals lately, and some Little Mermaid toys.

Black cats with eyes, shiny and bright, make me shiver in fright!

We got home from vacation on Halloween Eve. So, our Halloween was a busy day full of unpacking, laundry, dishes, groceries, and we also managed to fit in some Halloween fun. We carved pumpkins, and we also ate a Halloween dinner. I made a snake shaped calzone that was a pretty big hit (Both kids ate the food with no complaints. A rare occasion in this house). We also had green soda with spider ring ice cubes.
Happy Halloween!

Last year after Halloween I bought this cool pumpkin kit. You hammer in the pegs, and it end ups like a light-bright pumpkin. Corbin loved it!! He made a pirate face on his pumpkin.

Trunk or Treat

Here are the kiddos at the Red Hawk Ridge trunk or treat a couple of nights ago. It was pretty darn cold and windy that night, so we dressed Avery in Corbin's old Elmo costume (instead of her BYU cheerleader costume). When I got the costume out Avery ran over and gave Elmo a kiss. It was pretty cute. And Corbin was an awesome football player. He was especially excited for the black lines we painted under his eyes.

Touchdown!

Avery's opinion on the best way to wear a football helmet:
