Snow Day!

Last Thursday, we got a pretty good snowstorm here. Clark got to come home early from work, and it was so nice to have him around, even though he did have to do some work from home. Our fun day included:

Playing in a sink full of water

Distracting Clark from his work

And reading Where the Wild Things Are. It's been a while since the last time we read this book. On each page, Corbin pointed at the monsters, laughed, and said, "silly!"

The next day, Corbin and I went out and played in the snow. Corbin wasn't a huge fan, he really didn't like walking, or crawling in it. You will see in the video, he looks at me and says, "how?" Translated to mean: help. Corbin only liked to walk in the snow, if he was holding my hand.

Corbin had much more fun playing in this big puddle of water in our street. He probably played in it for 30 minutes. Isn't Corbin a cute little marshmallow, all bundled up in his snow clothes?

We need a sandbox

I know what I want to get Corbin for his birthday in July, a sandbox. He has way too much fun playing with the dirt in my planters. Oh, and the combination of the hood and the hat was Corbin's idea. He really wanted to wear them both. Silly kid.

sew a belt

Corbin took two naps today. It was wonderful. In January, he started regularly taking just one nap daily, so this was a nice treat. Especially because this is what Corbin looks like when he gets tired.
I took advantage of the extra time I had to myself, and made Corbin a couple of belts. I found this website with instructions, but I ended up kind of doing my own thing. I can't believe I didn't think of doing this sooner. Corbin has a problem with his pants falling down. He is just a little sting bean!

The before shot.
I got this belt for free with some pants I bought a while back. I have never used it. I decided to cut it up, and use it as the base for Corbin's first belt.

And here is the belt after! Don't you just love the ribbon? I sewed it right on top of the original black belt. I added velcro to make it easy to open and close. I used a lighter to finish off the ends of the ribbon, and the cut edges of the original belt. I think I might save this belt, and give it to Corbin as part of a new Easter outfit.

And here Corbin is modeling belt number two. He had just woken up from nap number two, and he insisted on bringing his doggy downstairs.
For this belt, I sewed two 3/4 inch wide ribbons together. I think it turned out pretty cute, and best of all, it's reversible!

sorry

I have been trying to teach Corbin to say sorry. He will usually repeat it when I tell him to, which is usually after he hits me or Izzy. The funny thing is that the only time that he will say sorry without any promptings from me, is when he has gotten hurt. I accidently scratched him the other day while I was getting him dressed, and he looked at me and said, "Saw-ee (sorry) Mama, saw-ee." Yesterday we were out back grilling some chicken for dinner. Corbin was running back and forth on some of the gravel in our back yard, and he wearing no shoes. As he was running he said, "Owie! Saw-ee. Owie! Saw-ee." I couldn't stop laughing.

Best buds

Corbin loves every minute that he gets to spend with Clark. We can't wait until Clark's work calms down enough that he will be home before Corbin goes to bed each night.

messy boy = happy boy

These crayons and beans kept Corbin entertained for almost an hour yesterday. He loved being able to put them in, and then take them out of containers. I loved being able to clean the kitchen without listening to any tantrums from my adorable little boy! :)

We went to the DU vs. BYU gymanstics meet last night. It was nice to be able to spend some time during the week with Clark, especially for Corbin. He loves spending time with his Daddy. We met up with our friends Ryan and Kristen, and their cute girls, and had lots of fun cheering on BYU. Denver won the meet, which wasn't a big surprise. They have a really great team, and BYU has had lots of injuries this year.

Corbin had lots of fun at the meet. Every time the crowd would cheer he would clap and say, "yay!" He was also obsessed with going up and down the stadium stairs. Clark was a really good sport to chase after him, while I was busy watching the meet.

On Sunday, we put Corbin down for a nap. We could hear him playing, and then there was a crash, followed by Corbin crying. I went up there, and he had somehow fallen down in his crib and bit his bottom lip. Poor kid. There was tons of blood.

And here he is later that night. A happy little boy again, helping clean the dishes.

Relaxing on a Sunday afternoon

Bubbles! Corbin's favorite thing! Coloring the fence with chalk. It was fun to see him really get into coloring everything in the yard.
