A frozen celebration!

 Avery was soooo excited for her birthday party! We started it out by playing with "snow dough."

All the boys got a Marshmallow (the ice monster) shirt. The girls all got homemade Elsa capes.

Grandma came and helped out with the party. Avery let her wear a gold crown. Which is a pretty good compliment to Grandma, because gold is Avery's new favorite color. 

Freeze dancing was a huge hit with all the kids. They loved it! We played clips from the movie, and the kids were supposed to freeze like Elsa when the music stopped. Some of the kids liked to pick their own poses to freeze.

Avery wanted a doughnut cake. Which was fine with me! It was easy and yummy!

We also had a snowball fight with snowballs made from yarn, played parachute (which Avery said was her first favorite thing we did), and played pin the nose on Olaf (Avery's second favorite thing at the party). The party was so much fun. And I think that Avery had a wonderful time!

Tyson's crawling really took off this month!

Tyson learned how to pull to a stand this month!

The fence went up this month! It has been such a wonderful thing! I love not having to worry if the dog is going to run away. And I feel like the kids are safer playing in the backyard now. So fabulous. Oddly enough it has also made our yard feel bigger (mostly in the side yards).

Tyson is such a little mover! He is trying so hard to pull up to a stand. So far he can only stand up using the stairs (and thankfully he hasn't started climbing any stairs yet). Everywhere else he pulls himself up onto his knees. He still loses his balance a lot, and there are lots of head bonks through out the day.

Eastlake fall festival

We had so much fun at the school's festival. Elsa and Darth were definitely the highlight of the night!!!

1st day of Preschool

Avery started preschool today! It seems like she has been waiting for this all summer. Nearly every time we have gone past a farm she would ask, "is that my preschool?" Avery did great at school. She told me that they got to go on a walk to see the farm animals. And she said that her favorite part was everything (which is kind of her standard response when you ask what her favorite part of anything was).

August events

Our huge cement project was finally completed! The kids were soooo excited for the cement truck to come. You would have thought it was Christmas morning! :)

We went to the zoo with Uncle Jeff.

It's a good thing he is such a patient, happy baby.

1st day of school

This cute fella is now in 2nd grade! I can barely believe it. He said his teacher is really nice, and that he had a lot of fun today. Plus, second graders are allowed to do the monkey bars at recess!
